WITH a large number of horse racing stables confirming their participation for the Guyana Cup Fever horse race meet, organisers have extended the registration process until Tuesday.
This is according to Chandu Ramkissoon, who indicated that no late entries will be accepted after the extended time is expired.

The race meet, which is dubbed Guyana’s largest horse-racing event, is billed for April 16 at the Port Mourant Turf Club, Corentyne,Berbice. Organised by the Jumbo Jet Auto Sales and Racing Stables in collaboration with the Port Mourant Turf Club, eight races are on the cards with over $8M in cash,along with trophies and other incentives up for grabs.
The feature race is for animals classified b1 and Lower, and will run over 1900 metres for a cash prize of $1million and a trophy.

Other races billed for the day are: the E1 and Lower West Indies bred non earners for 2016 and 2017 and E3 US and Canadian bred non earners for 2016 and 2017;the four-year-old West Indies bred and G3 and Lower;H3 and Lower, three-year-old Guyana bred horses and those classified I1 and Lower, Guyana bred three-year-old maiden, while there are races for animals classified J2 and K and L and Lower.
Further,the organising committee reserves the right to cancel/reframe any race mentioned above.

In the event that less than five (5) horses are entered for any event the committee reserves the right to cancel or reframe the said event or reduce the prize money after notifying the horse owners. Seven horses must start or no fourth prize will be paid.

The Guyana Cup Fever is the brainchild of Jumbo Jet Auto Sales, and has become the largest horse-racing event in Guyana.
