CITY Magistrate Leron Daly on Friday released a father of two on $200,000 bail for the offence of trafficking narcotics.

Ras Parris, 34, pleaded not guilty to the charge, which alleged that on March 29, 2017 at Lot 3720 North Ruimveldt, Georgetown, he had 908 grammes of Cannabis Sativa in his possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Police Prosecutor, Simone Payne told the court that police ranks conducted raids in the area when some of the illicit drugs were found in a chair in the defendant’s home, while another portion was found in an alleyway next to Parris’ home.

However, Attorney Mark Waldron in his bail application told the court that the drugs found in the alleyway could belong to anyone.

Waldron said that police, after finding the drugs in two separate locations, put the combined weight into one charge. Parris will make another court appearance on April 21, 2017.
