AN accident on the Land of Canaan Public Road, East Bank Demerara (EBD) has resulted in the death of 27-year-old Nizamudeen Muhammed known as ‘Dwayne’ of Lot 616 Section ‘A’, Golden Grove, EBD.

The accident occurred at approximately 00:10hrs on Tuesday and according to a police report, Muhammed was proceeding north along the western side of the road in motor car PRR 4768 when he reportedly collided with the metal rail of a culvert. He lost control of the car, causing the vehicle to topple several times before he crashed into a lamp pole, on the same side of the road. As a result, he was flung out of the vehicle. He was the lone occupant of the car at the time of the accident.

This newspaper understands that Muhammed was picked up in an unconscious state and rushed to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre where he was pronounced dead on arrival. His vehicle received extensive damage. The body is at the Lyken’s Funeral Parlour awaiting a post-mortem examination.

Muhammed was employed at New Timehri Handling Services Inc. at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA). Neighbours described him as an easy going person who does not have many friends. His parents reside in the United States of America.
