Sol hosts workshop for miners, other businesses

SOL Guyana Inc., in collaboration with Shell Lubricants on Thursday hosted a Business Forum at the Guyana Marriott Hotel for operators in the mining, commercial and agricultural business sectors, along with fleet managers.
Orlando Boxill, General Manager of SOL Guyana Inc, the Shell Licensee in Guyana, welcomed participants to the event, which he said was designed to enhance their knowledge of Shell’s lubricants products and services, and to encourage greater efficiency in their respective operations.

He added that the event was further evidence of SOL’s commitment to supporting Guyana’s business sector. “SOL’s longstanding partnership with Shell continues to be to the benefit of our customers, and we are proud of our continued association with the world’s leading supplier of high quality lubricants. It is in keeping with this tradition that we will continue to support the industrial and transport sectors here in Guyana,” the SOL General Manager said.
He continued: “Events such as today’s business forum are designed to ensure that owners and operators can always make informed choices of the best lubricants available, and also make the most efficient use of /Shell’s world leading lubricant technology.”
Other speakers contributing to the Forum included Ms. Rajdai Jagarnauth, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Business and Mr. Colin Sparman, Admin Coordinator of the Guyana Gold and Diamond Miners Association.
Marketing Manager for Shell Caribbean, Mr. Sergio Roldan; Technical Specialist, Mr. Jose Hernandez and Lubricant Specialist, Mr. Douglas Mc Clean made presentations on behalf of Shell Lubricants and also fielded questions from the gathering.

The interactive event also featured a tour of the” Shell Lubricants Experience Centre” where participants could further familiarize themselves with the many Shell Lubricants Services. The Experience Centre was further highlighted by the Shell Video Check demonstration, where participants had the opportunity to explore the inside of a used engine , using a microscopic camera. This piece of equipment can assist in identifying engine issues.
The keenly-enthusiastic group of industrial operators was encouraged to keep using high-quality Shell Lubricants which provide the highest level of protection available on the market.
