GUYANA’S Sunburst champion and national men’s champion, Narayan Ramdhani, moved up to the number 3 spot in the men’s singles of the Badminton British Columbia Senior Rankings in Canada, where he is currently training and studying with Shuttlesport Badminton Academy, in Vancouver.
Ramdhani was among the top three on a list that included 24 players, when Badminton Canada released the Week 12 rankings.
Ramdhani was number 3, with 878 points on the list which is headed by Antonio Li with 1 348 points. Li ranks seventh in Canada’s overall ranking.
Canada’s overall ranking is topped by Jason Ho-Shue of E Badminton Training Centre.
Ramdhani’s latest ranking marked a move from number four in Week 11, and being at number 10 in Week 8. His upward performances come after playing in only three tournaments so far; reaching the semi-finals and bringing third place in all three and also winning one consolation tournament.
In a statement issued yesterday the Guyana Badminton Association (GBA) extended congratulatory remarks to Ramdhani, noting that the body “is extremely happy with his progress after just coming out of the junior category and playing in the senior circuit as of 2017”.
