Members of Parliament will on Monday participate in a sensitisation workshop on Competition Law and Policy for Parliamentarians.
The Level 1 course commences at 10:00hr in the Parliament Chamber, Public Buildings, Brickdam, Stabroek, Georgetown. In a release the Parliament Office said the workshop is consistent with the functions of the CARICOM Competition Commission under Article 173.2 (c) and (h) of the Revised Treaty of Chaguaramas.
Consequently, the consultants have selected a regional competition expert from the CARICOM Competition Commission in the person of Dr Kusha Haraksingh to deliver half-day Sensitisation workshops in the CARICOM Member States.
During the half-day workshop, Dr Kusha Harakhsingh, Chairman of the CARICOM Competition Commission, will make a presentation on: Introduction to Key Concepts and Ideas: Competition, Competition Law, Competition Policy; institutional Arrangements for Competition Law Enforcement in CARICOM; Competition and Trade Agreements and Competition Culture in CARICOM.
