AN unemployed Albouystown resident was detained on Tuesday night by ranks of a police mobile patrol on Mandela Avenue, Georgetown with an illegal firearm.A police report noted that the 27-year-old male, who was riding a bicycle in the vicinity of the “Well”, dropped the weapon upon seeing the police and attempted to escape.

He was however caught and arrested; the firearm was retrieved and found to be a .32 pistol with three live matching rounds. He is expected to be charged soon.
