— F Division commander urges ranks

COMMANDER of ‘F’ Division (interior locations) Ravindradat Budhram has urged ranks to always put the public first and to follow up on reported cases since communities are partners in crime prevention. He issued the charge at a breakfast he hosted for his ranks on Thursday at the Bartica Recreational Centre, Region Seven.

It was a first for the division and saw ranks receiving incentives for outstanding work done throughout the year.

Commander Budhram said supervisors must work to ensure officers perform their duties efficiently and effectively, pointing out that stimulating motivation is a constant process that leaders in any career can always improve.

The profession of law enforcement is no different from others that require ambitious and productive employees to serve effectively, but some aspects of motivation are unique to the professional police officer.

“The community holds police to a high-level of public trust while expecting them to prevent crime, maintain order, and provide an equal and unbiased application of law enforcement. To be an equal opportunity enforcement officer, the individual must be motivated to do the job and be held accountable to the highest standards at all times,” he explained.
