– Monthly activity where pensioners receive breakfast ,clothing

The Mayor and Town Council Social Development Committee held its monthly breakfast for the elderly who accesses their old age pension at the New Amsterdam Post Office.

In addition to being served with an extravagant breakfast, the pensioners were pampered with manicures, pedicures and hair care treatments and also received donations of clothing.
Ms. Patricia Lynch, Social and Development Officer, noted that the continuing program allows persons to enjoy these services, which were collectively donated by private individuals and businesses.

For the New Year, she envisages that assistance will be received in the form of transportation to and from the post office for the elderly. She also expressed optimism that a recreational centre for the elderly could hopefully be established in the future.
