MAHAICA Determinators were determined as ever on Sunday as they `hammered’ Buxton Youth developers 7-1 when the two sides faced off in a fixture of the Guyana Football Federation/NAMILCO National Under-17 League at the Golden Grove ground, east Coast Demerara.On the same day and at the same venue, BV/Triumph came from behind to edge Plaisance 2-1.
In the Mahaica Determinators versus Buxton Youth Developers’ fixture, Julius Hamilton netted a helmet-trick for the winners in the 2nd, 46th, 55th and 86th minute, while support came from Nicholas Jardine, martin Wilson and Omari Walcott who all found the back of the opposition’s net in the seventh, 32nd and 66th minutes respectively.
Meshane Thomas scored for Buxton Youth Developers in the 56th minute.
In the other game, Jaheem Hinds sent Plaisance into the lead with a 21st minute goal but Omari Glasgow was also on target in the 57th and 66th minutes to give BV/Triumph victory.
On Saturday at the Golden Grove ground also, Buxton United defeated Buxton Stars 2-0 through goals off the boot of Kobe Durant in the 19th and 25th minutes.Also on Saturday and at the same venue, Bachelors Adventure/Paradise Sports Club were held to a 1-1 draw by Ann’s Grove.
Randy Hamilton scored for Ann’s Grove in the 41st minute while Tishawn Gordon levelled the score in the 74th minute.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, Den Amstel, the leaders of the West Demerara Football Association’s Leg of the Intra-Association league,secured a walk over victory from wales United and moved to 24 points from eight matches with a plus 15 goal difference.
In related news on the WDFA league, Slingerz crushed Beavers 4-1 at the Den Amstel ground to move into second spot in the points standing.
Odel Duncan netted a brace in the fourth and 11th minutes, while Troy Skeete and Brentol Bobb scored in the fifth and 47th minutes respectively, while Akeem Caesar scored for Beavers in the 14th minute.
