GUYANA’s football Chief, Wayne Forde has been appointed to serve on the Governance Committee of CONCACAF for the next four years.The appointment was confirmed following his nomination to the Committee on October 18th and after eligibility and background checks were carried out in accordance with the statutes of the Confederation.
The letter of appointment which was sent by the Confederation’s General Secretary, Phillipe Maggio,was received last Friday by the GFF head and it stated that CONCACAF is committed to finding the best strategies toward further expanding the development of football in our Region, guided by precepts of Integrity and Transparency.
“We trust your contribution on this Committee will be key to our success and thank you for your participation,”it stated.
Forde,in gracefully accepting the appointment,hinted at his desire to assist in bringing back some respectability to the sport in the Region.
“This is a proud moment for Guyana’s Football and I am humbled and honoured to represent the Fraternity at what is considered the highest forum within the Confederation.
“I will advance policies and programmes that will restore the reputation of the Sport throughout the Region, the Confederation and Guyana. I am prepared to serve at any level of world football,” the head of Guyana’s football stated.
Forde is scheduled to attend his first meeting of Concacaf’s Standing-committee on November 18th in Miami.(Ras Wadada)
