Missing: Tonica Wilson

FIFTEEN-YEAR-OLD Tonica Innis has not been seen or heard from since leaving her Burma, Mahaicony, East Coast Demerara home on October 20, 2016 to attend the Bygeval Secondary School further up the Demerara East Coast.Family members are now worried sick, since this is the first time the teenager has gone missing and calls to her phone go straight to voicemail.

In an interview with the Guyana Chronicle, a distressed Tamika Wilson, mother of the missing teen, said she was told by one of her daughter’s friends that the teen had planned to run away from home.

“She told the friend that she will run away because of something she did and is afraid of her father penalising her.” However, Ms. Wilson says, there is no reason for her daughter to run away from home, because her father is in the interior.

“I really miss my daughter, and I want her to come home, where she will be welcome and can talk over why she chooses to run away,” Ms. Wilson has said.

Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Tonica Innis is kindly asked to contact her mother on telephone numbers 675-2695 or 682-4767, or to make contact with the nearest police station. (Avalon Barclay)
