WDFA/Stag Beer Senior League Pouderoyen, Uitvlugt, Beavers and Golden Warriors in winners’ row

FOUR teams registered victories over the past weekend when the West Demerara Football Association’s Stag Beer Senior League continued at the Den Amstel ground, West Coast Demerara.On Saturday, Uitvlugt defeated Wales 4-0 to move to the top of the points standing with 22 points, while Golden Warriors beat jetty Gunners 2-0 on the same day at the same venue to move to eight place in the points standing with eight points.
On Sunday at the same venue, Pouderoyen defeated eagles 3-0 and Beavers secured a 3-1 win against bottom-of-the-table Vege Boyz.
In the Uitvlugt versus Wales game, Daniel Floy sent Uitvlugt into the lead with a 50th minute goal and doubled the score nine minutes later, but this was after Jermine Accra had opened the team’s account with a 25th minute goal. The fourth goal was scored by Lerone Jacobs in the 69th minute.
As was anticipated,Uitvlugt took over the top of the points standing with 22 points from eight matches, having won seven matches and being held to a draw in the other for a plus-26 goal difference.
Wales on the other hand is placed eight in the standing with eight points from 10 matches. They won two, lost six and drew two.
Linden Gill and Shaquille Bristol’s eight and 48th minute goals respectively were responsible for Golden Warriors’ 2-0 win against Jetty Gunners.
Golden Warriors have so far played nine matches. They won two, lost five and drew two and has a minus seven goal difference.
On Sunday, Marvin Frank, Dwayne St. Kitts and Jermine McDonald found the back of Eagles’ net in the 33rd, 55th and 75th minutes respectively,to steer Pouderoyen to their 3-0 win.
The victory for Pouderoyen now sees them occupying the third spot in the points standing with 20 points from eight matches. They won six of those matches and drew two and has a goal difference of plus 24.
Eagles remain in the sixth position with 12 points from nine matches. They won three, lost three and were held to draws in the other three matches and has a goal difference of plus seven.
In the Beavers versus Vege Boyz’s game on Sunday, Jamal Holder, Gavin Anderson and Lenny Semple scored for Beavers in the 34th, 57th and 61st minutes respectively,while Shamar Marcus scored Vege Boyz’s lone goal in the 46th minute.
Beavers is placed ninth in the points table with seven points from eight matches after winning two of their games, losing five and drawing the other.
Vege Boyz on the other hand remains at the bottom of the table with three points from 10 matches. They won one and lost the other nine and has a goal difference of minus 31.
Den Amstel is second with 22 points,same as Uitvlugt,and each team has played eight matches, but Uitvlugt has a superior goal difference (plus 24) as against Den Amstel’s plus 12.
