FORTY-one-year-old Leonard Henry succumbed to his injuries at the Georgetown Public Hospital Thursday, following a horrific accident at Herstelling, East Bank Demerara (EBD) Tuesday.Henry of Land of Canaan, EBD was the conductor of the route 42 minibus, BBV 901, which crashed into a utility pole. He is also the owner of the vehicle. A post mortem examination is expected to be conducted today to ascertain the cause of death.

Also injured in the crash were Jessica Saywanauth, 16 and Jing Hing Su, 52; they remain patients at the Georgetown Public Hospital. According to a passenger, the bus was taking a turn when passengers felt the bus “vibrating” on the wet roadway.

This resulted in the driver applying rash brakes which caused the bus to skid, crash into a utility pole and topple on the conductor’s side of the bus.
