ACTING General Secretary of the Guyana Football Federation is the latest to have tendered his resignation at the office of the Guyana Football Federation (GFF).Mr Meerson Jones, in an invited comment, made it clear that he was forced to resign because of a critical family situation abroad, which he has to attend to immediately. That is the reason he quit his post that he was acting in for the last three months, yesterday
“It was a very challenging period and I learnt a lot. I feel committed to the development and once I am here again I would be involved. I must thank the Federation for giving me the opportunity to serve the sport which certainly has a long way to go. I would also like to extend best wishes to the football family,” Jones told Chronicle Sport in parting.
Last week Friday, the chief accountant Christine Jones handed in her resignation as well. Two financial directors and a technical director have also departed for greener pastures since this current executive assumed office last year November. The General Secretary was fired three months ago.
