Guyanese celebrate in New York

Hundreds of Guyanese joined their West Indian counterparts and converged on the Eastern Parkway in Brooklyn New York as the annual West Indian Day Parade kicked-off around midday on Labour Day in the United States of Amercia. Several officials of the state of New York including Mayor Bill De Blasio joined in the festivities as the crowds built -up to a sizable number during the celebrations. There were reports that four persons had been shot and two had died.
