Nothing succeeds in bringing out the essence of Indian wear more beautifully than the fabrics and colours.
The ethnic vibe is also becoming a common theme in fashion lately; the ethnic chic with a twist of modern has taken the fashion world by storm.

The duo said their inspiration comes from their backgrounds, being raised in traditional Indian homes. “The things we read; the things we were shown; colours, textures, and history of this wonderful country, Guyana.
“It’s about knowing what you want to portray, and who you are at the core as a designer.”
“This ‘Treasures of Love’ collection takes the classics, such as the sari, dhoti, salwar kameez and kurtis, and creatively transforms them, giving them a modern twist. And this has become a trend you can sport in our line.

“Making an outfit look contemporary and ethnic at the same time can be challenging at times, but a little creativity and a little fashion sense, and you’re ready to go! “Whether it’s chiffon, georgette, satin brasso, net or any other fabric, you can play with sequins, stones, beads, cut work and thread work of contrasting shades to augment the modern look.
“Pull out an old sari from your mom’s wardrobe, and revamp it, if that makes you happy! Experiment!9

“I think Guyanese know how to dress themselves fashionably, while remaining modest and comfortable, which is why we prefer loose-fit clothes.
“I personally find the clothing elegant; it’s very motivating, watching women look so elegant in traditional attire.” (Photos by Delano Williams)
