Buzzing this weekend

IT’S the weekend before the ‘big day’, and you know what that means? The celebrations have officially begun!

Here’s what you can look forward to over the weekend.
TODAY

**The Jubilee Festival Continues at the National Stadium. Enjoy a celebration of Guyanese music, fashion, cuisine and arts and craft.
Tonight’s theme is “Everything Guyanese”, so enjoy local entertainment at its best, with performances by Yoruba Singers, Dubraj Tassa Drummers and much more. Admission $500, children $300. Show starts at 19:00hrs every night.

**The Jubilee Festival will also host fashion shows every night this weekend at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre at Liliendaal, from 16:30hrs. Tickets are $2000. VIPs are $4000.
TOMORROW

**It’s ‘Night of Legends’ at the National Stadium once more for the Jubilee Festival, and what legends indeed! Dave Martins and the Tradewinds, Terry Gajraj and Sammy Baksh are just some of the talent who will take the stage.

**Then, reminisce about the past at the “Yesteryear” Old-School Party at Gravity Lounge. Enjoy hits from the 90s and early 2000s, mixed by renowned local DJs. Everyone is free before 23:00hrs.

**Visit 704 Sports Bar and get ‘Golden’. Bring out your friends, and celebrate Guyana’s 50th Independence. Admission: $2,000.
SUNDAY

**The final night of the Jubilee Festival will showcase younger talent at the “Nexxt Gen Concert”, and will feature performances from Jumo, Lisa Punch, Adrian Dutchin and more.

**The Guyana Hash Harriers are at it again, with a Golden Jubilee Hash Run. Meet-up is in front of the British High Commission at 10:30hrs. Cost to participate is $3000. Join the running group with the drinking problem, as they celebrate the 50th Independence.
