RCB replace Badree with Shamsi

(SPORTSMAX) – Tabraiz Shamsi will be replacing World T20 winner Samuel Badree in the Royal Challengers Bangalore team after the West Indies leg-spinner failed to recover from a shoulder injury in time to be ready for the Indian Premier League (IPL).Badree was hurt in the World T20 final while fielding. After the spinner had already completed four overs in which he recorded figures of 2-16, he dived to take a catch at short third man to dismiss England’s Liam Plunkett.
The spinner left the field soon after, suffering an injury that would prove difficult to recover from. This was the second time Badree had hurt his shoulder.
His replacement, Shamsi, played in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) in the 2014-15 season for the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, where he claimed 11 wickets in seven games at an average of 6.79 runs per over.
Shamsi was not as good in the Ram Slam T20 where he picked up nine wickets in 10 games for the Titans, but according to RCB bowling coach Allan Donald there is talent there.
“I’ve seen him bowl for Titans. He is very successful with what he has done in the past couple of years. Look out for a lot of mystery balls in there,” said the former South African pace bowler.
