Four teams on show in STAG Elite action at #5 WCB ground tonight

THE STAG Elite Football League will continue this evening with a double-header at the #5 ground, West Coast Berbice and will involve Buxton United, Guyana Defence Force (GDF), Georgetown Football Club (GFC) and Monedderlust with the first match scheduled to start at 19:00hrs.In the opening game, Buxton United will come up against GDF, while the feature game pits GFC against Monedderlust from 21:00hrs.
After seven rounds of matches, Buxton have five points to their name, having lost four of their matches while winning just one and being held to two draws. They have so far scored five goals and conceded 10.
GDF, on the other hand, have 11 points from three wins, two losses and two draws. The soldiers have scored 11 goals and conceded 12.
Scorers for Buxton United to date are Dillon Wright (three), Tyrone Hamer (one) and Deavor Dennis (one).
Goalscorers for the Army team are Olvis Mitchell (four), Nigel Braithwaite (one), Delwyn Prasen (two), Alden Lawrence (one), Sherwin Caesar (one) and Delroy Fraser (two).
GFC, with one solitary point to their name will be looking to improve their points standing. So far, from their seven matches played, they have managed only to secure one draw as they lost the other six matches.
They have conceded 21 goals and scored a mere six.
Their opponents for tonight’s match, Monedderlust, have three points from three drawn games and four losses. They have so far scored four goals and conceded 16.
GFC’s goalscorers to date are Romario Welcome and Linden Pickett with two goals each and Peter Parks and Lennox Cort with one goal apiece.
For Monedderlust, Sean Jackson has scored two goals while Pierre Joseph and Kevin Layne have scored one goal each.
