Jaguars roam Georgetown!

A FEW members of Guyana’s national football team, the Golden Jaguars, took the day off Caribbean Football Union (CFU) training sessions yesterday to meet fans in Georgetown. Daniel Wilson, Collin Nelson, Vurlon Mills, Eon Alleyne and Quincy Adams were the Jaguars who “roamed” Georgetown yetsterday during the Guyana Football Federation’s (GFF) meet and greet at the City Mall on Camp and Regent Streets.
They took the time to engage fans as well as host a few novelty games in which persons had the chance to win tee shirts, tickets to their upcoming Caribbean Football Union match at the National Stadium as well as other prizes.
The Jags have been placed in Group five (5) of seven (7) and will play their first match against Anguilla on March 23rd at the National Stadium, Providence, before they travel to Puerto Rico for their next match on March 29, 2016.
The competition will be played in two phases – the preliminary phase and the final phase.
Round one will be played from March 21-29; Round two May 15-21; Round three October 3-11; Fifth Place Playoff November 7-15; and the finals are scheduled for May 2017.
Among the other teams participating in the tournament are Antigua and Barbuda, Aruba, St. Kitts & Nevis, Grenada, St. Maarten, United States Virgin Islands, Cuba, Bermuda, French Guiana, Barbados, Curacao, Guadeloupe, St. Martin, Suriname, Martinique, British Virgin Islands and Dominica.
