Windies hammer Zimbabwe in second warm-up

JOHNSON Charles enjoyed a return to some semblance of form with a match-winning knock, as West Indies beat Zimbabwe by 10 wickets to win their two-match T20 series, 2-0, at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium last night. The powerful opener smashed 92 not out from just 48 balls with six big sixes and 10 boundaries.
His opening partner Andre Fletcher made 56 not out off 35 balls with three sixes and five fours, on a good batting surface.
Windies motored to a victory target of 154 without loss after the Zimbaweans made 153-7 off 20 overs.
The best bowler was seamer Carlos Brathwaite with 3-23, helping to restrict the Zimbabweans after they had enjoyed a solid start.
Part of that start was Visu Sibanda’s 64. Unfortunately for Zimbabwe, however, the only other batsman to provide Brathwaite with any resistance was Shikandar Raza, who made 23.
Dwayne Bravo continued to prove himself a thorn in the side of the Zimbabweans as well, bagging 2-11 in a spell that did much to restrict the Zimbabwe team.
Jerome Taylor was also in fine form, bagging 2-35 in the West Indies effort. (Sportsmax.com)
