He told the Guyana Chronicle that it is an honour for him to serve his country once again. “I am highly appreciative of the appointment as Deputy Chairman, and will use servant-leadership principles, practices and ethics — especially listening, empathy, and healing — to all points of views on an item before voting, remembering there are three sides to each story: my side, your side and the truth,” he said.

Under the stewardship of Bacchus and Dr. Ally, ExxonMobil oil business and all supporting new businesses will be passed through GO-Invest, which has a mission to contribute to Guyana’s economic development by promoting and facilitating local and foreign private sector investment and exports, in accordance with the country’s approved investment and export strategies.

Dr. Ally is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and President of International Consulting Services. He has 20 years of experience in the field of business in Guyana (1960-1979). On May 11, 1994, he received the Republican Senatorial Inner Circle Medal of Freedom from then US President George Bush for ”Dedication, Unwavering Support, and as a Prominent Leader in the Republican Party.” This is the highest honour the Republican members of the US Senate can bestow.

On October 31, 2010, the Alliance For Change (AFC) gave Dr. Ally the “GOLD KEY”, and by August 17, 2015, the “Dr. Shamir Ally Reading Corner” at the University of Guyana Library was established.
