THE Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club (RHTYSC) has expressed congratulations to its members Assad Fudadin and Royston Crandon on their selection to the Guyana Regional 50 overs team. The RHTYSC is quite delighted at their selection and wishes them and the Guyana team the best in their quest for championship honors. The club in a statement said, “Royston Crandon’s selection has a special feeling for all of us at the RHTYSC as he continues to dedicate himself to the game of cricket despite severe challenges and disappointments and we are confident that like in the 2015 tournament, he would be an asset to the team. “

“Assad’s selection is just a reward for a disciplined and extreme hardworking player and completes a full circle of selection to the four days 50 overs and Amazon Warriors 20/20 cricket teams,” the statement continued.

It reminded of its the players of the club’s formula of success – ‘Sheer hard work, discipline, faith in the god we serve, honesty and a steel determination to succeed against all odds’.

As we collectively celebrates of being granted a Medal of Service Award by the Government of Guyana, the RHTYSC is confident that they would fulfill their responsibilities as Ambassadors og Guyana’s leading youth and sports organisation.

Meanwhile, the club also stated its disappointment at the non-selection of Jonathan Foo of the Albion Cricket Club. Foo was without doubt, one of the leading performers in the recent GCB 50 overs tournament and his performance is the watchword for selection.

“Our club and the Albion club have a long standing rivalry but as every cricket fan would be aware, the RHTYSC has always put the game of cricket first and Jonathan Foo deserves to be selected – full stop.”

“We would also like to condemn the treatment of our own Clinton Pestano and Eon Hooper who both performed well throughout the tournament, both of them were belatedly called for the second trial match after the club was informed less than 24 hrs before the game by an individual who has no proper record as a cricket administrator, ” concluded the club.
