MAXIMUM Sports Combat and Strength sports show, aired every Friday on NCN, is set for a special, spectacular New Year’s night 90-minute presentation. Tonight’s show will run from 20:30hrs to 22:00hrs, beginning with prayers from highly regarded representatives of Guyana’s religious denominations, (Christian, Muslim, Hindu, & Rastafari), something the show producer says is a symbol of nationwide inclusivity for the positive and continuous momentum of viewership growth, with its inspiring, informative, and entertaining content.
The Producer, sports enthusiast Max Massiah, noted that due to the overwhelming response from sports personalities and the general public, comprising all ages and ethnicity, and with the first programme for 2016 actually being on the first day of the year, the success of any and all endeavours begins with prayers.
The Producer added that other guests on tonight’s programme will be the representatives of Combat & Strength sports, (boxing, bodybuilding, powerlifting, and martial arts) such as the Guyana Amateur Bodybuilding & Fitness Federation, the Guyana Powerlifting Federation, Guyana Boxing Board of Control, Guyana Olympic Association, the Guyana Sports Commission, Senior Instructors of Martial Arts Schools, and president of the Guyana Boxing Association, Steve Ninvalle.
‘Max’, as he is popularly known, has received invitations to travel to countries such as Pakistan and Russia, to attend tournaments, for the purpose of acquiring valuable video footage for the programme, but unfortunately was unable to attend due to other pressing engagements and priorities, but stated that in 2016 he will ensure such opportunities are accommodated for the highly beneficial value of the show’s viewers.
Massiah holds a Certificate in Television Production presented by the University of Guyana’s Centre for Communication Studies, is a Certified GBA Boxing Coach, Referee, and Judge, a 2nd degree Black Belt Martial Artist, been involved in bodybuilding for over 35 years, and has an unquenchable passion for sports/fitness health development, which are all assets for a quality programme.
Fitness Express, Guyana Karate College, Jermins Enterprise, Hand-in-Hand Insurance, Industrial Supply of Guyana, Nexgen Global Marketing, and Comfort Sleep are the show’s sponsors.
Giftland Mall is a ‘Special’ sponsor, while A. Ally & Sons is the main sponsor. Support has also been given by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth & Sport. The programme enters its 79th edition tonight.
