A NEW Upper Demerara Football Association (UDFA) was voted in last evening, at the LEN building, with former Regional Chairman Sharma Solomon being elected president. Collie Hercules is the first vice-president, while Claude Williams and Keon Josiah were named second and third vice-president respectively.
Secretary is Terrence Mitchell, treasurer is Hansworth Barratt and assistant secretary/treasurer is Dillet Marville.
Vanessa Kissoon is the lone female on the Executive and will serve as Organising Secretary. The Public Relations Officer is Victor Wright.
The three committee members are Clive Brushe, Patrick Dey and James Trotman.
Solomon, addressing the clubs present, pointed out that the executive will work closely to ensure the game of football is developed at all levels, both on and off the pitch.
Chairman of the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Normalisation Committee Clinton Urling, along with General Secretary Diedre Davis, overlooked the process and lauded the UDFA for being the first affiliate to adopt the new constitution and hold elections.
Urling, after handing over a quantity of balls to the UDFA, pledged the GFF’s financial support to help the association in its future endeavours.
