TROPHY Stall, located in Bourda Market, on Friday partnered with the Guyana Boxing Association (GBA) as the association stages its National Intermediate Championship at the East Ruimveldt Community Centre (California).

Trophy Stall, in its continued effort to assist in the development of sports in Guyana, has donated trophies to the GBA for the championship.
The two-day championship has been named the Lennox Blackmoore National Intermediate boxing tournament in honour of Guyana’s first Commonwealth champion who won the lightweight title in 1977.
The championship, which got under way last evening, will culminate this evening at the same venue with the final in each of the divisions.
Over 65 boxers representing 10 boxing gyms are involved in the event.
Defending champions the Guyana Prison Service (Republicans) will be hard-pressed by the Guyana Defence Force (GBF) and the Guyana Police Force (GPF) to make a successful defence of their title. The GDF finished runners-up last year.
The other gyms being represented are: Linden’s Carryl and Pocket Rocket, Rose Hall Jammers of Berbice, Essequibo Boxing Gym, New Opportunity Corps of Essequibo, Forgotten Youth Foundation and Harpy Eagles of Georgetown.
