The small community of Free and Easy, West Bank Demerara, will soon access clean drinking water for the first time, following the intervention of Minister Keith Scott. A $10 million project is currently underway to install a water service in the area, the utility company GWI announced.
The residents had pleaded their case to Minister Scott when he visited the community last month.
GWI said the installation of pipe lines, distribution and transmission mains, commenced in late August and the entire network consisting of in excess of 6000 feet of pipe lines will be completed by next week.
