GUYANA’S top badminton player Narayan Ramdhani was selected by the Pan American Badminton Federation Development Committee to attend the Young Talents Camp in Medellin Colombia which opened yesterday.
The 10-day camp is being conducted by Professor Qadafi Muamar of Indonesia.
Ramdhani will also participate in the 6th Colombia International Championships on September 23 and 25 in the Men’s Singles events as part of the programme.
The Guyana Badminton Association (GBA) is pleased that its local player is being looked at, at the International level and also that his Junior World Ranking has moved up from 491 to 269 in the World after participating in a mere three international tournaments to date this year.
Those tournaments are: CAREBACO Under-19 International, the XXIV Pan American Junior Under-19 Championships and the XVII Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada.
The GBA is hoping that Ramdhani’s ranking will get higher since he will be competing at three more international tournaments this year.
The GBA expressed its gratitude to the Guyana Olympic Association (GOA) for its assistance in helping Ramdhani attend the camp in Colombia.
