The Guyanese contingent arrived trouble-free on separate flights between Wednesday and Thursday evening and everyone is ready for competition against the backdrop of works being done to get the Bushy surface ready for race day.
Information reaching Chronicle Sport has indicated that both cars and bikes landed late Wednesday evening and will not be ready before mid-day today, in a best case scenario, leaving very little practice time, and some upset competitors.
However, Bushy Park Motor Sport Inc. (BPMSI) has confirmed that the officials are working assiduously to get the cars cleared.

Bikes expected to steal the show
This year’s CMRC has attracted 19 entries in the Superbike Division as the day draws closer to the third leg of the Regional Championship.
The Guyana team of cousins Stephen, Matthew and Elliot Vieira, along with Kevin Persaud and Joel Neblett, are tasked with defending the integrity of the country’s ‘two-wheel’ title.
The riders, who were all upbeat about their chances come Sunday, have all confirmed their readiness for the meet although no one has yet received his bikes.
Nonetheless, at yesterday’s press conference Bushy Park Motor Sport Inc. (BPMSI) director Adrian Mayers said “all competitors are keyed up and ready to go.”
Meanwhile Guyana’s representative Mark Vieira indicated his confidence in the bike unit, adding, “Guyana is going to dominate; we are going to take 1-5, straight off the bat.”
Chairman of BPMSI Sean Maloney said, “This event is going to be spectacular, the motorbike guys are stealing the show. It’s going to be the best motorbike race we’ve seen this year come September”

CMRC is anyone’s Race
Meanwhile Director Mayers indicated that for the cars, “CMRC is anyone’s game.”
While there was a light-tempered flair to yesterday’s press conference where several of the most revered Group 4 drivers were not present, Guyanese representative Mark Vieira believes that the Bushy Park surface provides the best equalling factor for all cars come Sunday.
“It’s very difficult to run the two classes together (four-wheel drive and two-wheel drive). However, the nature of this track kind of evens it out a little bit but we will see,” the ace driver said.
Mark is a part of Guyana’s car team which includes current Group 4 champion Kristian Jeffrey, his father Kevin and Danny Persaud who will compete in both Groups 3 and 4.
Nazim Gafoor (Group 2) is the other part of team Guyana who will be in action when the flag drops on Sunday.
