PERSONS who think they can operate an unregistered business anywhere within the City are in for a big surprise:- Mayor Hamilton Green has declared he is on the move to rid the City of illegal businesses by any means necessary!

At last Monday’s press conference with members of the media, Mayor Green disclosed: “Only Green can give the green light.” Illegal business operators will face the blunt of the law.

He said too many persons are operating illegal businesses across the city, and something must be done to arrest the situation, because these business operators are not registered with the housing and planning authority of the Mayor and City Council (M&CC).

“People have, over the years, developed a culture of doing what they deem fit; therefore, from now they will be inspected, and will have to go the right route, which is by consulting with the municipality,” Mayor Green declared.

He promised that efforts to rid the city of illegal businesses will be strengthened, as constant surveys and inspections will be done to ensure that persons are obeying the law and doing what is right.
