MEMBERS of the U.S. chapter of the Association of the Presidential Guard and Immigration Services (APGI) on Thursday held a wreath-laying ceremony for Guyana’s first president, Mr Arthur Chung, at the Place of the Seven Ponds in the Botanical Gardens. President of the APGI, Mr Errol Lewis, pointed out that the Association has embarked on a mission to honour and pay homage to a former president as part of an annual event.

Meanwhile, Organising Manager of the APGI, Bonita Montaque, revealed that the Association plans to honour former executive president, Mr. LFS Burnham next year on its second tribute anniversary, since he was one of the faces behind Guyana’s Independence.
