THE Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) delegation, in Guyana for the recently concluded 44th annual meeting of the Board of Governors, was treated to a cultural evening last Tuesday at the National Cultural Centre, which was nothing less than a splendid display of Guyana’s rich cultural heritage.

The performances were a delight and the performers from across Guyana did the nation proud.
There was a combination of Indian tassa drumming and traditional African beats by Dubraj Tassa and Otiskha Drummers,
There was the Mainstay Lake Dance Troupe with their ‘Birds of the Forest’ performance, an Amerindian dance. A dance dialogue, by Indira Itwaru and Kijana Lewis, was probably the night’s highlight. Itwaru with her traditional Indian kathak and Lewis’ African tribal dance
managed an ethnic fusion that delighted the audience.
