TWO young men were arrested by police yesterday afternoon for shooting firecrackers into the air at the Anna Regina car park on the Essequibo Coast.
Reports said a group of young men were among secondary school students at the car park shooting off firecrackers which are banned in the country when they were nabbed by the police.
Reports said the thunderous sound of the exploding firecrackers was disturbing workers in government offices and also scared students who ran off screaming. A meeting being hosted by the Civil Defence Commission in the Regional Boardroom was also disturbed.
