A young father of Hampton Court on the Essequibo Coast is battling for his life in the Suddie Hospital after ingesting poison on Tuesday.

Reports said the father of one, 20-year-old Chris Mahadeo drank a poisonous substance after quarreling with his wife.

According to reports the young father who was determined to make his family happy for the Christmas holidays went to work in the interior with a mining company to make some fast dollars but according to reports after he returned home to his family, he encountered domestic problems.

Some of his friends visited him yesterday and prayed for God to spare his life. Only recently a 17- year-old girl of New Road died almost instantly after consuming a poisonous substance. Then last week a 53-year-old man of Zorg Village drank poison after setting his wife and house on fire. His lifeless body was discovered hours later in his backyard.
