Acting Chief Justice grants seven bail totalling $765,000

HAVING earlier been refused bail by a magistrate for allegedly committing various offences, seven petitioners managed to successfully petition the acting Chief Justice, Mr. Ian Chang, for bail in their individual circumstances, which was granted at a collective cost of $765,000.

The offenders, the offences and the amount of bail granted have been set out below:-
Murphy Scotland: for escaping from lawful custody, was granted $10,000 bail. Anne Marie Carter: for trafficking in narcotics was granted $200,000 bail. Maurice Cox: for threatening language, abusive language, and assault causing actual bodily harm was granted $15,000, $15,000 and $25,000 bail, respectively for a grand total of $55,000 bail. Dano Rose: for robbery under arms was granted $150,000 bail.
Ramrattie Ramlachan: for seven counts of falsification of accounts and embezzlement, was granted a total of $350,000 bail.
The total amount of bail granted amounts to $765,000.
