In an interview with the Guyana Chronicle, he said so far adequate financing is available to commence the projects which were advertised in the media.
Rooplall explained that the programme targets the key developmental elements of the communities, such as health, education, agriculture, drainage and irrigation (D&I), maintenance of buildings and roads, among other infrastructure.
He said a lot of focus and effort will go towards ensuring that the undertakings are properly executed. The works are aimed at enhancing the education sector of the region, including maintaining school buildings, extending some and supplying adequate furniture to those in need.
The REO stated further that D&I in his region is being closely monitored and several different jobs were advertised to assist in bettering the system.
He said all the works being done by the government are in keeping with its mandate to improve and make the lives of Guyanese better.
Meanwhile, Rooplall encouraged persons who have complaints regarding the functioning of their communities to raise them with their respective Neighbourhood Democratic Councils (NDCs) or the Regional Democratic Council (RDC).
