KEEN rivalry is anticipated today, when Wismar/Christianburgh (Region 10) takes on Waramandong (Region Seven) in the final of the Digical Schools Football Championship , at the Police Sports Club ground, Eve leary. Kick off time is 18:00hrs.

The match which can be termed the clash of the `Giants’ is expected to attract massive spectator support for both sides, since Waramandong’s supporters will be urging their team on to register an upset win, as Wismar/Christianburg  will start as clear favourites, having defeated Waramadong in last year’s final and also having won the championship two consecutive years and will be looking to make it three in a row.
Wismar/ Christianburgh booked their place in the final through a 6-1 drubbing of St. george’s on Wednesday last . The match was played at the Betterverwagting ground, East Coast Demerara.
The goal scorers in that match were Marimarleque Davidson who registered a first half bracein the 11th and 39th minutes; Donnovan Francis (39th)’ Shawn Luckie (41st)’ Jashawan  Moore *54th and Nigel Caesar (91st).
St. George’s lone goal came off the boot of Neil Cameron (28th).
Waramandong  supporters and team members will be heavily dependent on their inform striker, the burly tactically correct Whazir Bascombe who to date have scored five goals in his last two matches’ four versus Santa in a quarter-final encounter and one against Covent garden in a semi-final fixture. The latter  match was played last Wednesday.
But  Bascombe is not the only player capable of finding the back of any opposition net, since there is also Jasee Morris, Henton Browne,, and Kendrick Williams among others.
It is unclear if Waramandong will start with their number one goal keeper  Gerald Issacs, since he was injured during the semi final against Covent Garden and had to be replaced by Resrve keeper Neil Henrito.
The third place play-off will be contested between St. George’s and Covent Garden. Kick off time  for this match is 16:00hrs.
