RHTYSC invites nominations for first ever Ansa Mcal Award of Excellence

GUYANA’S Leading youth and sports organization, the Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club as part of its ongoing effort to recognise and honour outstanding Berbicians, would be hosting the first ever Ansa McAl Award of Excellence programme.

The Award, which is the brain child of the Club’s Secretary/Chief Executive Officer Hilbert Foster, was approved by Ansa McAl Managing Director Beverly Harper, who also serves as the club’s patron.
Foster disclosed that the Ansa McAl Award of Excellence would honour three outstanding Berbicians who over the years has excelled in a leadership capacity under the subheadings of sports, education and community development.
The general public has from the May 4 to June 1 to submit nominations of people whom they feel deserves to be honoured and the winners of the three subheadings would be selected by a panel of judges headed by veteran television journalist Gregory Rambarran.
The winners would be selected based on years of service, impact on society and role model status; all nominees should be over 40 years old; persons making nominations must be living in Berbice and are allowed only nomination under every sub-heading and are asked to submit their names, address and contact telephone numbers.
The announcement of the winners and presentation of prizes would take place on Sunday June 23 and as a note of interest, members of the RHTY&SC are not allowed to nominate any person or to be nominated.
Each winner would receive a plaque, a medal of excellence and a collection of gifts, and all nominations can be sent to the RHTYSC office, DTV-8 at Main and St. Ann Streets, New Amsterdam, or the Berbice Cricket Board’s (BCB) Charlotte Street New Amsterdam office, with nominations via emails being forwarded to foster_hilbert@yahoo.com.
