Anna Regina IMC planning collaborative Town Day

THE Interim Management Committee (IMC) of Anna Regina is planning to hold its first ever Town Day in August.

The IMC is also pushing to establish a community development group to gather together business owners and other stakeholders, so they can work towards cleaning and beautifying the township.
It is reported that the staging of the Town Day was discussed at the last statutory meeting, where it was anticipated that the formation of the community development group would be of great support in the staging of the first ever Town Day.
The IMC is considering August 1 and 2 for the celebration because Anna Regina became a town on August 1, 1990.
IMC members will be meeting with members of the business community and other stakeholders on April 17 at the Town Hall to discuss forming the group and its input for Town Day 2013.
The entire Region 2 and the other Administrative Regions will be invited to attend and participate in  Essequibo Town Day.
Overseas-based Guyanese with Essequibo roots will also be issued invitations.
The wards, from Three Friends to Walton Hall, which spawn the municipality, will be cleaned and dressed up for the occasion and a special theme is to be chosen for the occasion.
