Domestic violence awareness training for GPHC staff

MANAGEMENT of the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC), in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, has recently embarked on a domestic violence awareness training programme for staff at the institution. The first in a series of fortnightly lectures was held last Tuesday in the institution’s multi-purpose room, New Market Street, and got off to a positive start.        The lectures are intended to make persons aware of what domestic violence is and what the warning signs and symptoms are. The project will continue throughout the remainder of the year and conclude in December.
Presenters are being sourced from the GPHC, various ministries and related Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs).
Interested members of the public are invited to attend any of the sessions which will be held on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. (Shirley Thomas)
