Ali 6 wins Muntaz ‘Baji’ Ali trophy

ALI 6, captained by Intikab ‘Cryout’ Ali, took top honours last Monday at the Everest Cricket Club pavilion, as overseas-based Ali 6 player, Muntaz ‘Baji’ Ali, sponsored his annual winner-take-all dominoes competition.

It took the experienced Edmund Sammy, Junior Ramchurgie and Trevor Bovell to bring home the bacon as they made 14 games in the final sitting compared to 11 for Jackson 6 and 12 for Muntaz 6 as the final scores read 82 for the winners, 78 in favour of Jackson 6 and 73 for Muntaz 6.
Junior Ramchurejee led for the winners with 17 games and was well supported by Claude Stewart and Edmund Sammy with 16 and 14 games respectively.
Manniram ‘Packer’ Shew made the maximum 18 games with Dudharine Persaud (16 games) and Ash Ali (1 game) pitching in for the second-placed team while Muntaz 6 top players were Muntaz Ali (15) and Ron Callender (14).
At the presentation ceremony, Muntaz Ali promised to hold tournaments twice a year instead of once.
