“YOU could pay him in cash, cow or goat” for services rendered. This is what is being rumoured about a prominent AFC member operating on the East Coast of Demarara.  These services range from obtaining business licences to obtaining false drivers’ licences or through the back door; arranging the dismissal of road accident charges;  obtaining tax compliances; obtaining transports, titles and other information about land and land matters. In short, he acts as an intermediary between

unsuspecting citizens and corrupt public officials.
This senior AFC activist has been reported to have said in public if a certain course of action is not taken by the Chairman of the IMC of the Enmore/… NDC there would be “a bloodbath in Enmore.”
He is also reported to have accused the Chairman of the IMC of mismanagement and corruption even though he admitted that he has no proof.
The community of Enmore is and has always been a peaceful community and has never resorted to violence, deception, treachery and such like to resolve issues in their community. It is a community with a proud history of struggle against the likes of this individual.  Residents of Enmore are justifiably alarmed by such public pronouncements by this individual and are demanding an explanation from this prominent AFC activist.
Isn’t it hypocritical of this AFC activist to accuse the government of corruption, while at the same time, encouraging and profiting from it himself?
