UGSS Campus fete set for Turkeyen February 16

PLANS are well on stream to host the mega event, Campus Fete, featuring the Karma Band and soca sensation Shal Marshal on February 16, starting at 15:00hrs on the University of Guyana Turkeyen Campus.

altAccording to Coordinator of Campus Entertainment for the university’s Students Society, Marvin Wray, tickets are available at Clippers Barbershop, John Lewis Styles, Andrew’s Supermarket on Aubrey Barker Road, and Hotel Tower.
Wray noted that general admission early bird tickets are available for $1,500 and for VIP, $14,000,
UG and CPCE students can also purchase their early bird general admission and VIP tickets at the special price of $1,000 and $10,000 respectively from the UGSS office on campus by simply showing their student IDs, and wearing their CPCE uniforms.
He is also urging persons to join their Facebook event page in the UGSS group, in order to earn opportunities to pick up promotional tickets from sponsors.
According to him, they are getting the artistes fresh from carnival in Trinidad and Tobago.
He indicated that they have never had so many international artistes at one time on campus.
“We want to take the university to a new level of entertainment in Guyana, allowing for modern entertainment, taking examples from various universities around the world and applying it to entertainment in Guyana”, he said.
Wray noted that Shal Marshall- is the reigning road march Champion of Trinidad and Tobago, and he will also be performing his song for this year’s competition.
They will also be giving out promotional CDs to enlighten the public about the new music that’s being made available by these artistes, and the sound systems for this event are Shakti Strings and Travellers Sound System.
Campus Fete is being held by the UGSS in collaboration with Team Suga’ Entertainment.
