Guyana impresses at CAREBACO

GUYANA grabbed eight medals in the recently concluded Caribbean Badminton Championships (CAREBACO) which was held in Dominican Republic August 19-27.
Guyana engaged in battle with Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, Jamaica, Suriname, Puerto Rico and the host country.

Priyanna Ramdhani impressed once again as she grabbed gold in the Under-11 Singles and Doubles and claimed silver in the Mixed Doubles.
Narayan Ramdhano copped bronze in the Boys Under-15 Singles and Doubles; Cindy Sookway claimed bronze in the Under-13 Doubles and Mixed Doubles whole Omari Joseph won when he participated in the Boys’ Doubles with Narayan.
On the fourth day of the competition Narayan and Joseph partnered to defeat Cesar Brito and Argenis Marinez of the Dominican Republic 21-11, 21-14.
Sookwah partnered with Reid Rhys of Jamaica but lost to the host team of Danny German and Yasiris Rodrigues.
Priyanna and Adam Taylor of Jamaica partnered in the Under-11 Mixed Doubles final and lost to the Jamaican pair of Zane Reid and Shezelle Mctyson 22-20, 21-17 to claim silver. Priyanna earlier dominated Mctyson in the Under-11 final 21-14,  21-11.
