Work moving apace on multi-million-dollar synthetic track at Leonora

‘OVERHEAD VIEW’:  Work is moving apace on the synthetic athletic track being constructed at Leonora on the West Coast of  Demerara. Head of the Presidential Secretariat Dr. Roger Luncheon, earlier this month, reported that the first phase has been completed and Cabinet is moving towards putting out tenders for a significant stage of the project.
He noted that the pattern of operations used in the completion of the Guyana National Stadium will be replicated for the completion of the synthetic athletic track.  When completed, the $250M facility will become the first of its kind in Guyana and will contribute significantly to further advance and develop potential in the field of athletics. This aerial photo of the track was taken earlier this week by award-winning photographer Mike Charles.
