Police must look out for noise nuisance on Easter Monday

WE the residents of West Demerara have been enduring daily noise nuisance in our homes with little assistance from the West Demerara Police. Music systems are allowed to play loudly from homes and open sources such as vehicles and playgrounds. Complaints are made to the police but response is slow in making investigation. Is the police Division on the West Demerara understaffed or lack of vehicles to respond to such complaints?
Last Easter residents of Windsor Forest on the West Coast Demerara suffered from noise emanating from the seawall resulting in injuries to residents but prompt police action prevented a situation that might have turned sour.
We the residents of West Demerara look forward to the new Commander of “D” Division to put his men on the alert so that the situation on the Sea Wall at Windsor Forest could be easily monitored on Easter Monday.
Also if permits to play music in residential areas, this should not be issued to play music systems at the acceptable decibels.
We the residents of West Demerara are pleading with the Minister of Home Affairs to address this situation, as the nation is already facing a severe mental health illness as a result of loud noise. The police in some cases on the West Demerara have allowed this nuisance to get out of proportion.
