Farfan & Mendes renews sponsorship with RHTYSC for 15th year

FOR the 15th successive year, the Georgetown-based Farfan and Mendes Limited has renewed its cricket sponsorship with the Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club Under-15 team, having done so for the first time in 1997, and handed over a cheque for 2012 to the tune of $180 000. Secretary/CEO of the Club Hilbert Foster, at the presentation ceremony praised the excellent relationship between the club and the sponsor and described the Company as one of the foundations of the Club’s successes over the years.
The RHT Farfan and Mendes Under-15 team have won the Berbice Under-15 championship four times and have been runners-up on three occasions, proudly producing payers of the calibre of Assad Fudadin, Royston Crandon, Shawn Pereira, Murphy La Rose, Arif Chan, Abdel Fudadin, Dominic Rikhi and Parmanand Narine.
Added to that, a total of 27 players have represented Berbice and Foster disclosed that Chan represented Guyana at the Under-15 level in 2011, while 13-year-old Phaffiana Millington was in the Guyana female team the same year.
The RHT Farfan and Mendes team have won the last two Tenelec Inc.-sponsored tournaments, organised by the Berbice Cricket Board and Foster assured the Company that the Club and its Under-15 Team would continue to dominate cricket in Berbice.
The members of the team, of which Daniel Lewis is the captain and Brandon Prashad his deputy for 2012, have also set themselves a target of fifteen self-developmental programmes that would make positive differences in the lives of their peers.
