Hot and Spicy joins forces with K&S tournament

AS the time draws near for the opening kickoff for the 22nd edition of the Kashif and Shanghai (K&S) football tournament, more business entities within corporate Guyana have decided to come on board with the dynamic duo.
At a simple presentation ceremony held at their Albert and Third Street Restaurant yesterday, Kevin and Vanessa Singh managing directors of Hot and Spicy Dish, presented an undisclosed sum to the Kashif and Shanghai Organisation which would help offset some of the expenses for this year’s tournament.

Speaking with Chronicle Sport, Kevin Singh said he was heartened at the progress made by the duo with their tournament, taking timeout to applaud them for sticking through the hardships, while outlining the way they have made the tournament a success as the years go by.
In acknowledging the support of the sponsors, Muhammad said it was always a pleasure when the business community joins forces with any organisation or sports association to make their tournament a success, since it is impossible to do so without sponsorship.
The tournament will kick-off next Saturday, following the opening ceremony at the Georgetown Cricket Club ground, where Mill Ballers from Bartica will oppose Kuru Kururu Warriors in the first game followed by the feature clash between former champions Pele Football Club and newcomers Timehri Panthers.
At stake in this year’s tournament is a magnificent first prize of one pound of gold worth $G4M, compliments of Aruwai Enterprise Limited, along with the Ansa McAl Limited lien trophy and 24 replicas.
The second-, third- and fourth-placed teams will pocket $1M, $500 000 and $300 000 respectively, while the tournament’s Most Valuable Player will ride away with one motorcycle and the highest goal scorer will collect a prize that is yet to be disclosed.
