Some politicians waste no opportunity to create confusion

SOME politicians waste no opportunity to create confusion, even in the simplest of situations. I remember seeing a flyer which said KFC – Khemraj For Confusion – and at this time I do believe that that message was dead on.
The Kaieteur News’ story on October 26, titled ‘Jagdeo’s behaviour could provoke election violence’ in which AFC’s Khemraj Ramjattan says this could force the President to declare a state of emergency, thereby extending his term, is utter nonsense.

Guyanese know that if the People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) and its leaders had indeed wanted to have extended terms in office, then they would have never changed the Guyana constitution to include term limits. There was talk of a third term for President Jagdeo some time back, and we have all seen the speculations dissipating as no move was made to have the constitution amended to make way for this.
Again, the opposition seeks to bring forth this nonsense of an extended term and delaying elections. So far, the PPP/C has demonstrated its commitment to ensuring that elections are held by the constitutional deadline. Why would the AFC try to throw this suspicion into the public domain? One reason is to create confusion and mischief, because that party knows that the Guyanese people have already made up their minds where their Xs would go on November 28.
This fact is evident from the large turnout at the rallies held by the PPP/C. The AFC plays dirty tricks, and is employing that tactic now as elections draw near.
